BENOIT BEAULIEU

                               CINEMATOGRAPHER
ABOUT

ABOUT

Benoît Beaulieu is a cinematographer who worked on more then 30 projects so far in his career. Ranging from short to feature films, through fiction and documentary, advertising and music videos. So far, he’s been cinematographer on 9 feature films, of which 3 also as producer. He has produced over 40 short films and music videos, including CHROMEO, STARS, JONAS and PAT METHENY.

During his years of training, he has practiced all the trades closely related to the cinematography and the lighting for the cinema, and he thus knows intimately all aspects. While he has always favoured synergy in his relationships with directors, he has also developed a personal vision of his work, which he sees as another form of narration that is both parallel and complementary to the film. He firmly believes in the strength of the psychological impact that the spectator can have on the subtle handling of color, texture, contrast and frame. Following his collaborations as a cinematographer on GARMS WARS by Mamoru Oishi, MARS & AVRIL by Martin Villeneuve and IMAGINAERUM by Stobe Harju, Benoît has developed an expertise for cinematography including many visual effects. One of his outstanding collaborations as a cinematographer was on MOBILE ÉTOILE (Night Stand), the last French feature by Raphaël Nadjari, whose was release is 2016.
